Unlike it's doubtlessly surpassed predecessors, the Harmonic Grand Library project sets new standards in recreating realstic digital instruments. Although surround mic placement can reveal much of an instrument's acoustic existence, condenser microphones can sometimes fall short in capturing nuances from a far in an accelerative distance-based manner. Engineers extended their creative technique by incorporating close mics placed under the hood of the grand pianos. (see figure 2B on left).
